International Foundation Programme – Students Achieve Remarkable Exam Results

21st July 23

In recent years, our International Foundation Programme (IFP) has gone from strength to strength, and once again in 2023 our Foundation students are celebrating another outstanding set of examination results.

Our International Foundation Programme is a great alternative to A-Level study that allows students to progress on to study at a wide range of top UK Universities.  IFP students are assessed via a series of three examinations taken over the year of study, and students have the option to retake up to two exam units.  Many of our Foundation students prefer this method of assessment rather than taking all their exams at the end of a two-year programme, as is the case with A-Levels.

The overall average mark achieved by our Foundation students this year was 65%. A slight improvement on last year’s excellent performance.

Our Foundation students have a wide range of pathways to choose from, this year’s overall pathway scores are:

Medicine 77%

Business and Economics 65%

Engineering 69%

Science 60%

Creative Arts 60%

Sport 61%

We are delighted that these excellent results are being reflected in the confirmed university offers being made to the students.

On speaking of the achievements of the IFP class of 2023, Principal Chris Randell commented “Many congratulations to the International Foundation Programme students on a set of amazing results., They have worked hard this year and these results are a great testament to this hard work and dedication of the staff in supporting their studies. Well done to everyone and we wish you good luck in your future studies.”

Sina from Iran also achieved 91% in the Engineering Pathway and on talking about the course he said:

“One of the standout aspects has been the exceptional support from the teachers. They are not only highly knowledgeable and experienced but also incredibly approachable and always willing to help. Whenever I’ve had questions or needed guidance, they’ve been there to provide valuable insights and support me every step of the way.

The classes at ACM have been incredibly enriching. The curriculum is well-designed, covering a wide range of topics relevant to my field of study. The teachers are passionate about their subjects, which makes the learning experience engaging and inspiring. The interactive nature of the classes encourages active participation, fostering a collaborative and stimulating learning environment. I am grateful for the support I have received and the opportunities ACM has provided me for personal and professional growth. I believe that other students seeking a supportive and helpful environment would benefit from attending ACM.”

He is holding an offer for the University of Southampton to study Mechanical Engineering.

Every year we see more students progress from the Foundation Programme to top UK universities demonstrating the confidence that Univeristies have in the quality of student they receive from Abbey College Manchester.
