Celebrating Success at ISA North Regional Art Competition

Abbey Manchester is thrilled to announce the incredible achievements of our students at the prestigious ISA North Regional Art Competition. We are celebrating an amazing four first-place awards, as well as three well-deserved second-place finishes, showcasing the exceptional creativity and talent fostered within our school community.

The winners include:

  • Nikolas, (Year 12) – First Place in the KS4 Photography category for his stunning piece entitled Rain
  • Emily, who left this summer to study Art in Leeds, won First Place in the KS5 Textile category for her textile work Glisten.
  • Buntarika, (Year 12) – First Place in the KS4 Fashion and Accessories category for her exquisite creation Ceremony.
  • Adriana, now studying Art History and Curation at York University, secured First Place in the KS5 Sketchbook category for her deeply personal work, Perfectionism.

In addition to these remarkable first-place achievements, we are also proud of our students who earned second-place recognition:

  • EmilySecond Place in both the KS5 3D Art and KS5 Fashion and Accessories categories.
  • Zian (Year 12) – Second Place in the KS5 Photography category for his captivating photograph Prayers.

Abbey Manchester’s reputation for excellence in the Creative Arts is strongly affirmed by these accomplishments. Our students’ success in such a competitive and prestigious event is a testament to the quality of teaching and learning in our art department.

Student Reflections:

Adriana, winner in the KS5 Sketchbook category, shared her excitement:
“I really cannot believe my sketchbook has won the North Regional heat! Wow! Simply titled ‘Perfectionism,’ my work reflects who I am as a person, dealing with this difficult trait throughout my life. I am so proud of this win and excited to await the outcome of the national finals.”

Nikolas, who won in the KS4 Photography category, expressed his gratitude:
“I’m honoured to have my work recognized in the ISA Arts Prize. I worked hard to capture this image, and I’m so pleased it’s been appreciated. I’m excited to move on to the national final!”

Emily, whose textile piece won first place, spoke of her achievement:
“I am delighted that my hard work has been recognised by the ISA for the second year running. While I’m proud of my second-place awards in 3D Art and Fashion and Accessories, I am especially excited that my textile sample Glisten won first place in the regional competition and will go through to the national final.”

Buntarika, winner in the KS4 Fashion and Accessories category, shared her excitement:
“I am very surprised and pleased that the outfit I produced for my GCSE Textile coursework won first prize in the North West Region. This accomplishment is definitely going on my university personal statement!”

Abbey Manchester congratulates all the winners and looks forward to cheering them on as they advance to the national finals. These achievements reflect the dedication, talent, and passion that defines our students and the extraordinary support from our creative arts staff.
