Abbey College Manchester was founded in 1990 and is part of the Abbey DLD Group of Colleges.
Since its foundation Abbey College Manchester has become one of the leading providers of independent education in Greater Manchester. We have developed and maintained an outstanding record of academic success, and have a strong reputation locally, nationally and globally for high-quality teaching, very small class sizes and a strong tutor and welfare system.
Our college community has grown significantly in recent years and we now have students from around 25 countries as well as a large number of students from Greater Manchester, Cheshire, West Yorkshire and Merseyside.
The college is located in a modern seven-storey building in the heart of Manchester city centre. All classrooms; suites; studios and laboratories are well-equipped and resourced, and provide a teaching and learning environment to help students fulfil their aspirations.
Our educational offering has expanded significantly since 1990 with the college now offering the following programmes of study:
In 2012 a major extension of the ground floor in the college was undertaken. This comprised a new state of the art ICT suite housing the latest hardware and software; a new reception centre; meeting room and visitors’ waiting area.
During the summer of 2017 another exciting project took place at the college. This involved significant expansion of the first and ground floors as well as the basement, to create a new study centre, additional office space for operations staff and student services, and a new science laboratory. The new facilities were officially opened by Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester.
Abbey College Manchester is a constituent college of the Abbey DLD Group of Colleges.
